Sheep and goat farming

Commercial sheep and goat farming are becoming popular as a highly profitable business in Nigeria. A growing demand and an established network of livestock management departments in the country make this an interesting business and viable proposition, in both the short and long term.

There are numerous sheep and goat breeds available in Nigeria. At Plain-Field Global Heritage Ltd., we are experimenting with new and innovative breeding methods with breeds such as Balami, Uda, West African Dwarf sheep and Yankasa.

Our animals are housed in a dedicated sheep housing system with an efficient housing design to ensure increased production and profitability, compared to traditional systems. This farm has a capacity of 1000 sheeps currently and a goal to rapidly expand to 100 sheeps/day.

To ensure healthy and optimal growth, our sheep and goats are fed a well-balanced and nutritious diet comprising a good supply of green grasses and other green foods, fresh water and 12% -18% protein based feeds fortified with essential vitamins and minerals.
